How is the Baby Proof Score calculated?
We assess every hotel across the 6 things families travelling with babies and small children truly care about. Each category is worth 20 points; we convert the six-category total into a single 100-point Baby Proof Score. The categories carry equal weight — because a safe sea matters just as much as a room where your child can actually sleep.

How do we score?
Families tell us
Families who've stayed at that hotel with their baby or child fill in a short form: a score for each category, plus their own notes.
We assess
We turn these experiences into a 100-point score using the 6 categories and sub-criteria above, with our own independent yardsticks.
We publish transparently
We carry the result into an article alongside the family's own words. We have no commercial ties to hotels; the score is not for sale.
The math behind the score: 6 categories × 20 = 120 raw points. We convert that total to a 100-point scale: Baby Proof Score = (sum of the six categories ÷ 120) × 100. For example, a hotel scoring 20 + 20 + 16 + 16 + 20 + 12 = 104 gets 104 ÷ 120 × 100 ≈ 87. That way, the /20 bars in every story always reconcile with the 100-point total.
