Kaya Belek: A comfortable summer for families who want to relax with their child

Gizem headed to Kaya Belek in late June for 5 nights with her 6.5-year-old child. Back home, she summed up the holiday in a single sentence — and that sentence read like a summary of the high scores she gave, too.

Sea & pool: the category that helped most

This is where Gizem gave her highest marks. She found the sea shallow and safe, and there was a separate children's pool on top of that. On a summer holiday with a small child, this is exactly the pairing that helps most: a sea you can feel confident wading into and a pool that never leaves you glancing over your shoulder.

Food & equipment: they thought of the children

She found the kids' buffet generous; she also noted that high chairs and a baby buffet were available — and although her 6.5-year-old doesn't need them, that's a real plus for families with younger babies. She gave this category full marks. She also found the resort flat and practical enough to get around easily with a stroller.

Sleep, the room, and that noise question

She noted that the room offered a bassinet for babies — even though her 6.5-year-old doesn't need one, it's worth flagging for families with younger babies. Gizem gave the sleep & room category a high, though not perfect, score. Her only reservation was noise: because the hotel groups families with children in the same area regardless of age, the sound of children and babies occasionally reached the room. In her own words, the hotel “may feel too noisy for families without children.”

One observation of our own: the hotel's promotional images show that some family rooms are split-level, with a few steps between the lounge and the sleeping area. It's the same kind of detail we flagged in our Paloma review — a trip-and-fall risk for a crawling child or a new walker. Families with a small baby may want to request a single-level room when booking.

Family experience & kids' club

There was a kids' club, and Gizem rated the family experience with top marks. She also found the overall value for money “good,” giving the holiday an 8 out of 10.
